Dear Parishioners,

Peace and blessings!  It is with great excitement that I share with you news about how our Parish is growing.  I would like to start with some scripture that I have chosen as our campaign prayer:

It is our responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Ephesians 4:12-13

As a parish family, Immaculate Conception continues to grow and thrive; it is a blessing to be a part of it...I hope you all agree. I say this, and reference the above scripture, to let you know that we have entered into a parish-wide capital campaign.

This campaign has two goals to which our campaign scripture speaks perfectly:

“It is our responsibility  to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the Church, the body of Christ.”

1. God opened a door for us when we were given the opportunity to purchase the Biz 611 building on Church Street, which is now named the St. Joseph Center. An opportunity to purchase a property adjacent to us was amazing, but for this building to also have the space we require AND have a seller that was very generous with us from a sales price perspective is unheard of... it’s nothing short of God’s hand. This 10,000 square foot facility will serve as meeting space for our 113 ministries and Faith Formation classes (now consisting of over 440 students). Space has been in such demand for so many groups and there are not enough rooms at the school or the church to accommodate everyone’s needs. This campaign will enable us to pay off the remaining amount due on the building.

“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. “

2. We are all too familiar with the security challenges schools are now facing. In fact, I just returned from a meeting in Charlotte where we learned about required security enhancements. These upgrades and changes are imperative to the safety of our school students and the growth of this very important evangelistic tool! In addition to these upgrades, it is equally important that we update the old, inefficient windows, outdated plumbing, and the outdated façade of the school.

Over the coming weeks, you will be seeing and hearing about this exciting and very necessary campaign via our e-newsletter, the weekly bulletin, the website, and our other communication tools. ALL details will be forthcoming, and everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions, tour facilities, and participate in the campaign.  Please visit all of the pages under the Capital Campaign section of our website (at the far right of the top of the website).

I ask that you pray for the Holy Spirit to keep you open to the communication you receive and prayerfully consider supporting this effort as we continue to do His work and build up the body of Christ.
