Stewardship:  A Way of Life

"Whatever gift each of you may have received, use it in service to one another, like good stewards, dispensing the grace of God in its various forms."  1 Peter 4:10

Our Immaculate Conception community and each of its ministries strive to fulfill our diverse missions through practice and pursuit of stewardship.

Stewardship, in its simplest form, acknowledges that all that we have and all that we are come from God.  These gifts from God are provided to us as good stewards ...  to use them wisely, justly and in gratitude.  Each of us must place our own gifts, through the parish and our ministries, at the service of one another and those in need.

In the Pastoral Letter of the United States Bishops, titled Stewardship: a Disciples Response, a Steward is defined as one who.....
      Receives God's gifts gratefully
Cultivates those gifts in a responsible manner
Shares those gifts with all, in justice and love
Returns gifts to the Lord with increase.

The ministries listed in this booklet recognize their sense of stewardship, and serve in joy to live out that stewardship.

Come, join in the stewardship journey.

A Stewardship Prayer

Almighty Father,
You have called us together as a community of Faith
here at a New Beginning
We thank you for all the gifts you have given us:
our lives, our loved ones, and all that we have
and all that we are.
May your Spirit give us the grace to recognize our gifts
and the faith to use them in service to you.
Make us good stewards of all that we have received.
Generously sharing our time, talent, and treasure
to further your mission on earth.
Show us the joy of generosity;
Remind us that our world needs "Good Samaritans"
to heal the wounds of our times.
Make us a gift to others in your name.
So that when our time on earth is through,
We may be welcomed into your heavenly kingdom
and hear you say
"Well done, my good and faithful servant."
