A Letter From Our Pastor
Dear Parishioners,
I call Stewardship "the unfinished symphoney:, in reference to the unfinished masterpiece of Franz Shubert. When Jesus left this earth, He did not say "Mission Accomplished", instead, He entrusted us to continue what He began.
The biblically-based concept of stewardship challenges all believers to use their talents, treasures, and time to honor God. It is not a question of how much we can keep, but how much we return what belongs to God. I invite you to read again the parable of the wise steward as recorded in the Gospel (Lk. 12:42; 16:2). All that we have and all that we are belong to our Creator, therefore our stewardship is the matching of gift for matchless gift. How old is stewardship? As old as the creation of the world. Just to name a few references, the word "steward" is used in Gn. 43:19, 44:4, Is. 22:15, etc. As we continue Jesus' work, we are called to bring and share the good news to others and by doing that we become the good news. The messenger becomes the message. The harvest is big and the workers are few. Would you not volunteer to work in God's vineyard: (Paraphrasing the gospel). Here is some food for thought: Jesus was born singing love, He lived singing love, He died singing love. If the song is to continue, we must do the singing.
